How to care for bamboo objects in daily life.
Bamboo is natural and porous. Do not soak bamboo objects in water. Wipe spills immediately. If the bamboo gets wet, dry it thoroughly with a cloth.
Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight will cause bamboo to fade and crack. Place bamboo objects in shaded areas — shelves, cabinets, and away from windows.
Bamboo needs air circulation. Do not store bamboo objects in sealed plastic bags or airtight containers. In humid climates, ensure the room is well-ventilated to prevent mould.
Wipe with a dry, soft cloth. For deeper cleaning, use a barely damp cloth, then dry immediately. Do not use water or cleaning solutions.
In humid climates (tropical, coastal), check bamboo objects weekly for mould. If mould appears, wipe with a cloth dampened with white vinegar, then dry thoroughly. Re-apply natural wax after cleaning.
In dry climates, bamboo may crack. Apply a light coat of natural wax (beeswax or carnauba) every 6–12 months to maintain moisture. In humid climates, wax is less necessary but still beneficial.
