Small Does Not Mean Simple

Even a small dish requires the full celadon process — throwing, glazing, and reduction firing at 1,280°C. The glaze on this dish is slightly thinner than on larger pieces, giving it a paler, more translucent green. Each dish is a little different — the firing position in the kiln affects the final colour.

How to Live with It

A daily presence.

Place a coil incense on the dish and light it. The dish catches the ash as the coil burns. Use it in a bathroom, a hallway, or any space where you want a low, steady scent. Rinse with water after each use.
