A hand-lacquered tea caddy from Fuzhou, where lacquerware has been refined for centuries. Airtight, beautiful, and built to last a lifetime.
Fuzhou lacquerware involves applying 20 or more thin coats of natural lacquer, each layer dried for 1–2 days before the next is applied. The surface is then polished with increasingly fine abrasives until it achieves a depth that resembles polished stone. This caddy takes 40 days to complete.
Use it to store your everyday tea — the one you reach for most often. The airtight lid keeps tea fresh for months. Place it on a shelf or a tea tray where you can see it. The lacquer surface is durable, but it will scratch if struck with metal — handle it with care.
