Tall Stoneware Vase

Best for: A tall branch in a narrow entry

$240

A tall stoneware vase with a raw, unglazed exterior. The clay is Yixing — the same material used for teapots — and it ages the same way: slowly, beautifully.

Clay That Remembers

Yixing clay is famous for its porosity and mineral content. This vase is left unglazed on the exterior, allowing the clay to breathe and develop a patina over time. Each vase is thrown on a wheel and fired at 1,180°C. The colour is natural — no stain, no glaze, no decoration.

How to Live with It

A daily presence.

Use it for a single tall branch — a willow cutting, a bamboo stalk, or a dried seed head. The narrow neck holds the stem upright. The unglazed clay will absorb water slowly; over months, the exterior will darken unevenly, creating a record of how you use it.
